I once worked as an inflight chef for Saudia under CATRION, and I was fortunate to witness how every journey carries a story.
I listened to passengers travelling for their honeymoons, parents taking their children to school abroad, and families eagerly waiting to welcome them home. I still remember a teenager hugging and kissing his family with excitement as he prepared to return to Riyadh. I watched the cabin crew care attentively for children and elderly passengers, often going beyond their duties to make a honeymoon, birthday, or special journey unforgettable.
One of my most precious memories was of an elderly woman who was deeply touched by our service. Before leaving the aircraft, she gently touched my face, smiled, and said, “Shukran.” It was a simple moment, yet it reminded me that genuine care can cross every language, culture, and destination.
From a one-hour flight to the longest journeys across the world, every piece of luggage carries more than clothing. It carries reunions, farewells, adventures, ambitions and stories waiting to unfold.
For those of us working within Saudia and CATRION, these journeys also carry our own ambitions. Through our work, we have found purpose, fulfilled dreams and built hope

من أول رحلة أقلعت عام 1945… إلى كل رحلة تُحلّق اليوم، كانت “السعودية” تحمل أكثر من المسافرين؛ كانت تحمل أحلامهم ولقاءاتهم وذكرياتهم.واليوم، وبعد ثمانين عامًا، ما زالت كل حقيبة تُفتح على حكاية… وكل رحلة تبدأ بحلم جديد.

يجسد التصميم رحلة الخطوط السعودية عبر ثمانية عقود من التطور والتميّز، من خلال تقسيم بصري يعكس الماضي والحاضر. في الجانب الأيسر تظهر إحدى طائرات السعودية التاريخية وشعارها القديم، بجوار طفل يرمز إلى البدايات الأولى والأحلام التي انطلقت معها مسيرة الناقل الوطني. أما في الجانب الأيمن فتظهر طائرة السعودية الحديثة بهويتها الحالية وشعارها الجديد، وبجوارها أحد أفراد الطاقم في صورة تعكس النضج والاحترافية والريادة.
هذه ليست مجرد رحلة جوية... بل ذكرى خالدة بدأت من مطار جدة في أوائل التسعينيات، عندما انطلقت عائلتي في رحلته إلى سنغافورة على متن الخطوط السعودية.
تروي اللوحة لحظات متتابعة من تلك الرحلة؛ ابتداءً من الحماس قبل الصعود إلى الطائرة، ثم دفء الاستقبال من طاقم الضيافة، والهدايا التي قُدمت لي و لأختي الكبرى، والجولة داخل الطائرة، وصولاً إلى زيارة قمرة القيادة واللقطة التذكارية التي بقيت حية في الذاكرة حتى اليوم.
كل مشهد يجسد قيمة إنسانية من قيم الضيافة السعودية، ويعكس كيف يمكن لتصرف بسيط أن يصنع ذكرى تدوم مدى الحياة.
هذا العمل هو تحية امتنان لطاقم الخطوط السعودية الذين جعلوا تلك الرحلة الأولى تجربة لا تُنسى، واحتفاءً بثمانين عامًا من التميز في خدمة الضيوف.

منذ 80 عاماً، لم تكن الرحلات مجرد وجهات، بل قصصاً تُروى، وذكرياتٍ تبقى، كل صفحة تحمل ذكرى، وكل ذكرى تحكي رحلة وما زال الكتاب ينتظر حكايا صفحاته التالية.
For 80 years, every journey has been more than a destination. It has become a story to tell, a memory to cherish. Every page holds a memory, every memory tells a journey, and the book still awaits the stories that will fill its next pages.
This artwork is a reflection of my personal journey with Saudia and CATRION—a journey of gratitude, family, service, and cherished memories.
Eight years ago, I lost my beloved mother. One of the greatest blessings I will always treasure was having the opportunity to fly home through Saudia. Although I had limited financial means, the employee travel privilege allowed me to purchase a discounted ticket, giving me the priceless chance to hug and kiss my mother before she took her last breath. That moment became one of the most meaningful gifts of my life.
As I approach my 10th year with CATRION, I remain deeply grateful to be part of the esteemed Menu Planning Team. Every menu detail we support reflects our shared commitment to delivering the exceptional hospitality and world-class service that Saudia is known for.
As Saudia celebrates its 80th Anniversary, it also marks the beginning of new horizons. With the launch of Saudia’s direct flights to Japan in November 2026, I look forward to another meaningful journey—one that will bring me closer to my family and create new memories. It is another reminder of how Saudia continues to connect families, cultures, and opportunities across the world.
Looking back on the past decade, I carry with me memories of dedication, growth, and gratitude. Working in Saudi Arabia, discovering its remarkable heritage and breathtaking destinations, and being part of the journey behind Saudia’s inflight experience have given me far more than a career—they have given me moments that will stay with me for a lifetime.

For over 80 years, SAUDIA has connected people, places, and generations.
The story begins with a SAUDIA employee receiving the happiest call of his life while at work, his daughter has just been born. Surrounded by supportive colleagues and his manager, he shares the joyful news before rushing hospital to hold his newborn for the first time.
As the years pass, his daughter grows up watching her father proudly wear his SAUDIA uniform and ID badge every morning. Without saying a word, she begins to understand that being part of SAUDIA is more than a job it is a purpose.
One day, they travel together aboard a SAUDIA aircraft. The father quietly photographs the SAUDIA logo through the window, capturing a moment that represents decades of memories. His daughter watches him with admiration, realizing how deeply this airline is woven into his life.
Years later, now a university graduate, she walks into her father’s home office carrying her graduation certificate. She noticed that his office is surrounded by SAUDIA aircraft models and memories collected over a lifetime, she knows exactly where her own journey should begin.
She applies to SAUDIA, attends her interview, receives her offer, and signs her employment contract.
In the final scene, she stands in front of a mirror wearing her ID badge, just as her father once did, mirroring the same moment she watched as a little girl.
The story ends with the SAUDIA 80 Years logo and one final message:
“Some journeys begin with inspiration passed from one generation to the next.”

التحقت بالسعودية في ٢٤ يونيو ٢٠٠٣ كفني صيانة طائرات، وكانت أول طائرة عملت عليها A300-600.
ولكن حكايتي لم تبدأ يومها- بدأت قبل ذلك، من والدي وأعمامي الذين خدموا السعودية قبلي. في هذا العمل، حوّلت ذكرياتنا إلى طوابع بريدية حية مستوحاة من هوية رحلة الثمانين عاماً، تحمل كل واحدة فصلاً من رحلتنا: جيل الآباء، وتوقيعي الأول على السجل الورقي، والتحول الرقمي الذي عشته وقدته نحو بيئة بلا ورق، وجيل المستقبل الذي يقف اليوم بجانبي.
ثلاثة وعشرون عاماً من ثمانين .. حكايتنا أساسها ناسنا
Legacy of the Skies" celebrates 80 years of SAUDIA — from the propeller aircraft of 1945 to the 2026 anniversary livery — rising together in one timeless formation. A golden "80" embraces the Kingdom's landmarks, bridging heritage and future: from the skies of the past to the horizons of tomorrow
الفكرة: لوحة فنية تعرض أربعة تماثيل نصفية (Mannequin busts) مصطفة بعناية، يرتدي كل واحد منها كاب الكابتن الخاص بحقبة تاريخية مختلفة ومحددة من مسيرة الخطوط السعودية عبر الـ 80 عاماً. الفكرة تبدأ بالكاب التاريخي البسيط من حقبة الأربعينات وصولاً إلى الكاب الحديث والأنيق الحالي. يتم ترتيبها من اليسار إلى اليمين كتسلسل زمني (Timeline).
الفكرة: لوحة فنية إبداعية تجمع بين طائرة "السعودية" التاريخية القديمة (مثل طائرات الدوجلاس في البدايات) وهي تحلق جنباً إلى جنب مع أحدث طائرات الأسطول الحالي في سماء غائمة جزئياً يتخللها ضوء الشمس، مع ظهور الرقم "80" بشكل إبداعي ومدمج في السحاب أو انعكاس الإضاءة.
ذكرى لا تُنسى من طفولتنا في مطار جدة، حين اجتمعت العائلة كلها استعدادًا لأول رحلة إلى المدينة المنورة على متن الخطوط السعودية و عدد الافراد في الصورة هو العدد الفعلي للعائلة وكانت اول رحلة في عام 2010 في شهر ذو الحجة
يصور العمل طفلا ينظر من نافذة طائرة واحدة, لكنها لا تكشف له مكانا واحدا, بل ثمانين عاما من الحكايات.
في الجانب الأول تظهر البدايات المتواضعة للطيران السعودي, وفي الجانب الآخر يظهر الحاضر والمستقبل الذي وصلت إليه "السعودية". وبين الماضي والمستقبل يمتد مسار الرحلة ليشكل الرقم 80, رمزا لمسيرة لم تتوقف عن التحليق.
أما انعكاس الطفل على زجاج النافذة, فيظهره مستقبلا كأحد أبناء قطاع الطيران, ليجسد الفكرة الأساسية للعمل : أن ما يراه طفل اليوم من نافذته قد يصبح الدور الذي يصنعه غدا.
فالنافذة التي شهدت الرحلة الأولى لم تكن تطل على السماء فقط, بل كانت تطل على مستقبل أجيال كاملة.

صورة لشخص منبهر بالخطوط السعودية منذ بدايتها (كونها انجاز وظاهرة جديدة تحلق في السماء) وحتى بعد ثمانين عام لا زالت ملامح الانبهار عليه (لما قدمته الخطوط من تقدم وتطور واستمراريتها في تقديم مستويات منافسة وذات علامة فارقة في عالم الطيران)
المشهد: طائرة سعودية تنطلق من الماضي إلى المستقبل عبر مسار زمني واحد:
في الجهة اليسرى: أولى طائرات الخطوط السعودية في الأربعينيات، مع مشاهد المسافرين ورواد الطيران الأوائل.
في المنتصف: أبرز محطات السعودية عبر العقود، وربط المملكة بالعالم وخدمة الحجاج والمعتمرين.
في الجهة اليمنى: طائرة سعودية مستقبلية تحلق فوق مشاريع المملكة الحديثة مثل نيوم والبحر الأحمر، محاطة بعناصر الذكاء الاصطناعي والاستدامة والابتكار.
المسار الجوي على شكل الرقم 80 في السماء، يربط الماضي بالحاضر والمستقبل.
